Atlanta’s inaugural golf tournament was a success, raising thousands for the Julian P. Wade Scholarship! AITP’s dinner meetings have always been a pleasure to attend. The comradery, and topical discussions on various technical advancements always make attending these meetings a worthwhile endeavor. When Georgette Moore, AITP Atlanta’s Chapter President suggested we “take it outside”, I wasn’t sure how that would play…….but I’m thrilled she suggested it!
We’ve all attended a variety of community groups – of which there are a large number in Atlanta – that keep our head in the game, discussing ground breaking technologies, career progression, etc., all of which are productive. But when we gathered at Fox Creek Golf Course in Smyrna, we all let our hair down a bit, kicked back and enjoyed each other’s company even more. We had a such a great group of people who came out to enjoy the day….and that was what we did! We had varied skill levels – even beginners who enjoyed our Golf Clinic – who came out to spend some time with each other. It was great to see everyone put their cell phones down, get to know one another even better, and really soak in a beautiful day.
There where a number of folks who helped put this together, but I would to extend a special thanks to our student volunteers, Catresa Barlow, Whitlei Neal and Stephen Morrison (pictured with Harper “Lisa” Bronson, AITP Board Member and faculty adviser for the GSU chapter) This group of talented individuals really helped keep things running smooth as silk! With the positive feedback – and smiles on everyone’s face – this is sure to be a repeat event for AITP Atlanta! Can’t wait ’till the 2nd Annual AITP Atlanta Golf Tournament!
