Joe Marroquin is the CISO for Encompass Digital Media where he oversees information security and compliance programs globally for the company. Joe is an expert at cryptography, cybercrime, cyberterrorism, as well as compliance and assurance programs. In his role he routinely deals with issues ranging from hard cryptography and cyberterrorism to SOC2 assurance programs and international law. Over his twenty year career, Joe has worked for and consulted for some of the world’s largest corporations, like Accenture, IBM, Disney, and Shell. Before his business career, Joe served in the Persian Gulf and Kosovo as a United States Naval Officer of the Line where he was formally trained in cryptography and cryptosystems.
Joe is a sought out speaker who has spoken globally on information security, cyberterrorism, information technology, and national security. Within the Atlanta Metro Area, Joe is a regular guest and keynote speaker at various forums like TAG, Data Connectors, and AITP. He recently delivered a university lecture at Kennesaw State University on Cybersecurity, Critical Infrastructures, and Terrorism.
Joe attended Texas A&M’s Bush School where he studied national security, European affairs, international economics, and geopolitics at the postgraduate level. Joe is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he studied human geography with a focus on geopolitics. Joe is a world traveler who has had the privilege of visiting over 100 countries for work and pleasure. He is an avid scuba diver who enjoys diving WW2 wreck sites.
