Mark Brodbeck is Chief Executive Officer of ToolBank USA, a national nonprofit organization that is equipping citizens with tools to revitalize communities and transform lives.  Brodbeck is the founding executive of ToolBank USA and, along with the board of directors, has taken the ToolBank replication concept from the drawing board to implementation.

Brodbeck has led the organization to numerous significant achievements, including the codification of the ToolBank replication model, securing initial capital from national and global corporate partners, and the successful creation of ToolBank USA’s first new affiliate in Charlotte, NC in 2009.  Brodbeck provides the strategic direction to legal, accounting, IT, recruitment, and marketing teams to transfer knowledge and start-up capital to communities engaged in creating ToolBanks to serve their local charitable sector.

Brodbeck started his ToolBank journey with the Atlanta Community ToolBank in 2000 as Program Manager, and then serving as Executive Director from 2002 – 2008.  During his tenure, demand for ToolBank tools almost tripled; roughly 40,000 volunteers were equipped with ToolBank tools in 2008.  Brodbeck devoted his efforts to clarifying the ToolBank model, bringing all program functions into alignment with the ToolBank mission, and establishing a nonprofit brand synonymous with professionalism and quality customer service.

Brodbeck holds a Masters degree in Social Work with a concentration in community empowerment and program development from the University of Georgia and a Bachelors degree of Fine Arts from the Atlanta College of Art.  He is an avid practitioner of aikido and is a self-proclaimed ‘tech geek’.  He and his wife live in downtown Atlanta.
