Steve Cover is an accomplished technology executive with over 20 years of experience in the design, development, and operations of commercial software products. He has directed technology efforts in companies of all sizes from early stage to Fortune 50.  Steve is currently a finalist for Georgia CIO of the Year.

Most recently Steve was Vice President of Technology at Rainmaker.  In this role, he was responsible for the company’s technology strategy, product development, information technology and operations for the delivery of the company’s innovative solutions.  In addition, his responsibilities included outsourcing and off-shoring efforts, information security, performance management, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.

Prior to joining Rainmaker, Steve Cover was Vice President of Research and Development for the Peachtree Accounting organization at Sage.  While in this role, his teams shipped award winning products and received the Global Sage Innovation Award for delivering tools to provide an extraordinary customer experience.  During his time at Sage, Steve also held the role of Chief Software Architect for the Peachtree and MAS families of accounting products as well as multiple roles focused on the integration and sharing of technologies across Sage’s global family of products.

Before joining Sage Software, Steve spent eleven years working for Microsoft in various management and product development roles.  He worked on many products including Windows Mobile, Microsoft PhotoDraw, Microsoft Image Composer, and SoftImage Digital Studio.  His last few years at Microsoft were spent leading the Office Mobile development organization.   During his time at Microsoft, Steve co-authored 6 technology patents and shipped 10 products.  Steve is a graduate of Furman University with a BS in Computer Science and Georgia Tech with an MS in Computer Graphics.
